Costume Designs
After spending time researching the period looks, I got started with my designs. I knew the girls' costumes would have to be constructed, while I hoped to be able to pull most of the guys' pieces from our stock. I began by drawing rough sketches for the flight attendants and submitting them to the director. Once those preliminary sketches were approved, I started searching through our stock of costumes and fabric. I also made some changes to the details of the uniforms after the rough sketches. Robet's costume was entirely based on items we had available, so I never made a sketch for him. Bernard used a combination of newly constructed items, altered items from stock, and purchased items, so I did make a sketch for him.

Gloria stayed almost the same, but I changed the center panel to a swoosh. On the design I also changed the neckline, but ended up using the original square neckline.

Gretchen also saw some revision. I changed the black block in the original to navy blue. I also inserted the arrow and made both sleeves the same color.

Gabriella didn't change at all, from start to finish.

Bernard had two looks, but ended up never removing the jacket during the show.

Bert's look was also inspired by the fabric we had available. His character was always a little "extra" so I made his costume reflect that.
